Additional information

Join us for a night where we discuss the far right and figure out how to get off “the Road to Gilead” (the dystopian Handmaid’s future). We want to form a meaningful resistance and create a better existence. But how? This episode focuses on American Christian nationalism and how it’s seeping into British churches and society. We will discuss its anti-equality agenda that seeks to permanently subjugate women, people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community and people at the intersections of these groups. This includes the rising US-based campaign to remove the vote from women and “give it to the family.” And what role does big tech and AI play in all of this?

We need to get wise to the well-funded strategies in place that are changing our society without our permission.

On our panel:

Zack Polanski, The Green Party Leader

Reverend Lucy Winkett the Rector of St James’s Picadilly

Katherine Stewart, a world expert on Christian nationalism. Stewart is an American journalist and author who has gone undercover to write her New York Times Bestselling books including The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism (which was the basis of Rob Reiner’s documentary God and Country) and Money Lies and God: Inside the Movement to Destroy American Democracy.

Deborah Frances-White hosts the show, with comedian Desiree Burch.

Katherine Stewart and Deborah Frances-White will be available to sign their books after the show.
