VICTOR WOOTEN & THE WOOTEN BROTHERS
Victor Wooten is a five-time Grammy Award-winning bassist, composer and producer, renowned for expanding the possibilities of the electric bass. He is best known as a founding member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, with whom he has performed and recorded for more than three decades, while his remarkable career has also seen him work with artists including Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Dave Matthews, Bootsy Collins, Branford Marsalis, Mike Stern, India.Arie and Keb' Mo'. A celebrated solo artist and influential educator as well as a virtuoso performer, Wooten is widely regarded as one of the most important and innovative bassists of his generation.
Victor is joined by his brothers Joseph Wooten on keyboards, Roy "Future Man" Wooten on percussion, Regi Wooten on guitar and Rudy Wooten on saxophone. The brothers began performing together as children, developing an extraordinary musical connection that crosses funk, jazz, soul, R&B, rock and fusion, with each member bringing his own distinctive personality and virtuosity to the music.
On stage, The Wooten Brothers are about far more than technical brilliance. Their performances combine dazzling musicianship, improvisation, deep grooves and a genuine sense of fun, underpinned by the instinctive chemistry that comes from a lifetime of playing together. The result is a joyous, high-energy celebration of musicianship from a family whose collective musical story stretches back more than five decades.
